2022 Arbois Chardonnay from Domaine du Pelican – Premium French White Wine

Grapes from these hilltop sites, rooted in mineral-rich marly soils, are gently crushed and pressed immediately after harvest. Fermentation begins spontaneously in a combination of traditional barrels and large foudres. For aging, only 30% of the wine sees time in 350L or 500L barrels (a mere 5% new), preserving vibrant fruit character while allowing subtle complexity to develop. The remaining majority matures gracefully in larger foudres and vats, resulting in a beautifully balanced white wine.
