Jeb Dunnuck,
“Raised exclusively in steel, the 2022 Ferruggini is this estate’s entry-level table wine. Made from 50% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Syrah, it pours a medium ruby color and offers aromas of ripe red cherry, rosemary, and earthy notes of turned iron-rich soil. This is a medium-bodied, simple, but food-friendly wine with a nice savory touch that does exactly what its makers intended. It would be great with meat-based pasta dishes and pizza and will be best enjoyed over the next 3-4 years.”
Wine Advocate,
“Made with Sangiovese (50%) supported by Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Syrah (20%), the organic Chiappini 2022 Bolgheri Rosso Ferruggini has hints of raspberry and apple skin that give this wine a very lifted, albeit informal personality. This is a punchy and bright red wine with an accessible side to pair with pizza or take-out foods. It is fermented with ambient yeasts in stainless steel, and fruit comes from young vines, ranging from five to 15 years old. Production is 20,000 bottles.”
Alcohol: 13.5%
