Dhondt-Grellet NV Extra-Brut Roc Solare: A Champagne Masterpiece from France

Producer & Origin: Crafted by the esteemed Dhondt-Grellet in the heart of Champagne, France, this sparkling blend is a testament to the region’s rich winemaking heritage.

Blend & Vintage: The NV Extra-Brut Roc Solare is a unique addition to Dhondt-Grellet’s portfolio, predominantly featuring grapes from the 2021 vintage with a 30% perpetual reserve. Disgorged in September 2024, it boasts a delicate dosage of three grams per liter, ensuring a perfect balance of flavor and finesse.

Terroir & Grapes: Sourced from four meticulously tended plots in Barbonne-Fayel and Fontaine-Denis, planted by Adrien’s grandfather in the 1970s, this Champagne is a blend of mostly Chardonnay with a touch of Pinot Noir. The terroir, characterized by deep clay and silex pebbles, imparts a distinctive flinty aroma that adds complexity to the wine.

Tasting Notes: In the glass, the Roc Solare reveals an enticing bouquet of lemon zest, lychee, pine nut, iodine, and smoke. Its full-bodied nature is complemented by striking concentration and vibrant acidity, shaped by the cool growing season. This Champagne is more expressive and slightly richer than Dhondt-Grellet’s other non-vintage offerings from the Côte de Blancs.

Winemaking Philosophy: Vinified entirely in barrels (around one-third new), this wine reflects Dhondt-Grellet’s commitment to traditional winemaking techniques. The result is a Champagne that showcases the warmth of its terroir while maintaining a refined and elegant profile.

Alcohol Content: With an alcohol content of 12%, this Champagne offers a harmonious balance of flavor and drinkability.

Experience the pinnacle of Champagne craftsmanship with Dhondt-Grellet NV Extra-Brut Roc Solare – a wine that seamlessly integrates into any collection and promises an unforgettable tasting experience.
