Discover the vibrant character of Gavela da Vila, a distinctive organic white wine crafted by renowned winemaker Laura Lorenzo in Spain’s breathtaking Ribeira Sacra region. Made from 100% old-vine Palomino, this expressive vino blanco is grown on sandy granite soils in Val do Bibei, where the unique terroir imparts freshness and texture.
Hand-harvested in early September after a hot, dry summer, the grapes undergo 15 days of skin maceration in 1000L chestnut foudres, followed by 11 months of lees aging for added complexity. Unfiltered and with minimal intervention—only a touch of SO2 at bottling—this wine showcases pure, natural flavors.
On the palate, expect a crisp, fluid profile with bright acidity, making it an excellent companion for raw seafood, grilled fish, roasted vegetables, or light poultry dishes. Compared to its slate-grown counterpart (Gavela do Pobo), this granite-grown Palomino offers a smoother, more approachable style while retaining depth and minerality.
